Well, after several very busy weeks, we are moved out of one place and finally into the other. March 15 was a crazy, busy day. Thankfully, a couple of Tom’s friends, plus Jane and Tom helped us out both on Sunday and Monday loading up two U Haul trucks with all of our stuff. We packed one U Haul full of all of the furniture and kept it packed in the driveway of our new place for the first week while the hardwood floors were being refinished. The second truck we loaded with everything else and Jane and Tom were kind enough to help us haul it all into the new house at 9pm on the night of the 15th.
Here are some pictures of the moving process on the 15th:
wrapping all of our furniture in plastic wrap to protect it.
Loading up the trucks.

One last picture in the old house. Interestingly enough, I thought I’d be really sad leaving our old home. But once all our things were moved out, it was just a house.
Jack gives his crib a hug goodbye and agrees to let Baby Emmett use it in the new house.
Tom, Emmett, and I stayed the night in the new house on the first night, while Jack stayed with the grandparents. Bright and early Tuesday morning, the hardwood guys were knocking at our door. They had the old carpet out by 8am!

Pulling up the carpets to reveal…..the hardwoods beneath!
The finished product!
The hardwoods were finished on Friday, the 19th, but we weren’t allowed to move any furniture in until Sunday night. We worked all day Monday, the 22nd to get the house semi-ready for Jack to return. When Jack came home, he got to sleep in his “big boy” bed for the first time. So far it has been going pretty well. He’s only fallen out of bed twice. :)
Last weekend my parents tackled our moss-infested front lawn. They went over it six times with a thatcher, raked up two truckloads of moss, and reseeded it. Hopefully in a few weeks, we’ll have a beautiful new lawn!
This is the second week that we’ve been in the house and we are slowly getting our lives unpacked. We are up until midnight doing projects every night, and there is so much updating we want to do, but there is so much more space for the boys and we are on a very friendly street.
Stay tuned for more on our new place!
