A Week Away

Last week Jack and I snuck away with my parents to our cabin in Coeur d' Alene. Tom was a trooper and stayed behind to man the house and work. We had a wonderful time swimming, driving the boat, and spending time with Nana and Boppa.
Here's a look at some of the ways we spent our days:

32 Weeks!

august fun 011

Can you believe it?  This week marks week 32 in my pregnancy. This picture was actually taken at 30 weeks. I think I've gotten even bigger since it was taken. This pregnancy has definitely gone by quickly. I have been feeling well, although I am beginning to feel pretty tired. I am sure that is due to chasing a very active 20-month around. Hard to believe that the little guy is going to be here in just two short months. Are we ready for this?

Grandpa Jack Turns 95!

august fun 003 On August 10, our little Jack's great-grandpa Jack turned 95 years old. What a milestone!  We ventured over the mountains to the city so nice they named it twice, Walla Walla. Saturday we lounged at the house, watched golfers, and even took a little swim in the community pool. That night we had dinner at the Company Club (or Country Club as it is actually called) to celebrate with GG Jack. Little Jack loved the ice cream cake that GG Jack got for his birthday. He ate so much we were worried he might have a stomach ache!

After dinner, Jack and Dad got a treat--they were allowed to take one of the golf carts out for a short spin on the course. Jack was in heaven, that is until he had to get out of the cart!

Seafair

seafair 005 It has been several years since we have been in town the weekend of Seafair. Since it was a beautiful weekend and we were around, we decided to check this year's festivities out. Usually we are out on the boat for Seafair, but this year we got to experience it by land. We joined thousands of other people on the shores of Lake Washington to watch the hydro's and the Blue Angels, of course. Jack loved watching the hydro's, although every time one went by he said, "uh-oh" as he watched the rooster tail of water streaming from behind it. We weren't sure if he would enjoy the Blue Angels, or be scared by them. I think he was a little of both. He loved watching the planes and throughout the weekend would make jet sounds and move his hands like a plane. During the show, he gripped tightly onto either Tom or me, a little unsure of the very loud noises he was hearing. I have to say, that I think watching the Blue Angels from the beach is better than being on a boat. They fly right over you!  It was incredible and no matter how many times I watch them, I am always amazed! We had so much fun on Saturday, we went again on Sunday!
