Dance Machine

I’ve had this video for a few weeks, and have been meaning to share it, but am just now getting around to it.

I was up visiting my parents and we were in GAP looking for Easter outfits for the boys. I showed Jack a hat, which he immediately put on and then took off for the mirror in the dressing room. He was gone a couple of minutes, but I wasn’t worried since I knew where he was. When I went to check on him, this is what I found…

I don’t where he learned his moves, but this kid LOVES to dance!

Easter

Easter is always special, but this year it was especially so. Not only did we celebrate our Lord’s resurrection, but we did so with the people who are most special to us, our families.

Tom’s parents spent the night with us and we all went to church in the morning. Jack was so excited to finally wear his fancy clothes.  Matt, Joanna, and Baby Zoe joined us at church too.

After church we came home and were joined by my parents, my grandmother, Tom’s parents, Tom’s grandparents, and Matt, Joanna, and Zoe. We ate, talked, and enjoyed great fellowship. I loved being able to host such a special day at our home.

Easter Egg Hunt: The Warm Up

P1000421

On Saturday the community center near our house hosted an Easter Egg Hunt. It wasn’t really a hunt, more of a mad dash to pick up as many pieces of candy as each child possibly could on the football field.

They divided the kids up by age. Jack had a clear advantage, since he was in the 0-3 age group. He also strategized and ran to the end of the field, where other kids were not, and began filling up his basket. He made out pretty well.

Emmett, this being his first hunt, didn’t employ the same strategy. He put one fruit roll-up in his basket. Lest you feel sorry for him, he was completely satisfied with his one treasure—and his brother shared some more treats with him later.

The Old Spaghetti Factory

I hadn’t been to one of these places in forever. Not since I was a kid. We went on Good Friday, after meeting Daddy downtown at his work and spending some time at the Aquarium. We were at the restaurant right when it opened (4:30). As we waited to be seated, we were sure that we’d be the only ones there that early. P1000418That’s when we began to notice the steady stream of minivans pulling into the parking lot. By the time we were seated, the place was packed with families just like us. The boys were so excited because we got to sit in the trolley car. As if that wasn’t cool enough, we saw 3 trains go by during dinner. At one point Jack looked at us and said, “This place is awesome!” And it was.

Perhaps the best part was watching Emmett eat his spaghetti. He had a serious plate to attack, and he went after it with vigor. By the end, his face was covered in sauce, he had noodles stuck to his head, and the floor was completely covered with his dinner. And then they brought the ice cream…

We walked out of the there completely covered in spaghetti, stuffed to the gills, and totally happy.
