Yesterday after Jack woke up from his nap, he needed his diaper changed. Never one to sit still, Jack wiggled right out of his diaper and proceeded to take off on his truck around the house. Wearing absolutely nothing. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know by now that I immediately ran for my camera determined not to miss this adorable moment.

11 Months Old and Teething
Yesterday Jack turned 11 months old...how is this possible? I can hardly believe that we are already to this point. People always say how fast time with your children goes, but until you are a parent, I don't think you can truly understand. Well, I get it.
Jack hasn't slowed down one bit, not even for the 5 teeth he is currently cutting. His top front two teeth are almost completely in, but he is working on another on the bottom and two more on top. We can tell that they have been bothering him, but he has kept right on moving. I guess there is just too much to explore and play with to let some little teeth slow him down.
Jack has also begun to show some interest in books. Before whenever we tried to read to him, the book immediately went into his mouth, or he began squirming. He clearly wasn't interested. But now, he actually enjoys this quiet time. Currently, his favorite book is called Toes, Ears, and Nose. It is a lift-the-flaps book and Jack loves to open the flaps and see what is beneath. Here is one of his book sessions. Note the way he curls his toes....I've noticed he does this whenever he is concentrating.

Weekend with the Grandparents
Yet another week has flown by and our little Jack continues to change and grow. He now has his two top teeth (four teeth total) and is madly crawling or cruising everywhere. Tom and I are quickly realizing that he is no longer a baby, but a little boy. He now loves to push cars, trucks, and pretty much anything he can get a hold of across the floor. He even makes car noises as he does it.
We spent this past weekend with Tom's parents. We went to their house Saturday afternoon and spent the afternoon watching football and being lazy. We had hopes that the Huskies might actually win a game, but they didn't. It's been a long season. On Sunday we went to the Bainbridge Aquatic Center to go swimming. It is really cool. It has a kiddie pool, a shallow area with water fountains, and a lazy river. It will definitely be a fun place to visit as Jack gets older. Around 3:00, Tom and I headed home...sans Jack. Jack spent the night with his grandparents. It was his very first time spending the night away from home without us. The grandparents said he had a great time!
With our child-free night, Tom and I had a goal to go to dinner somewhere that we wouldn't be able to go if we were with Jack. We settled on a tapas restaurant in Ballard called Ocho. We had great food and conversation. It was such a fun little evening just the two of us.
These are a few pictures from an adventure out to Fall City in search of pumpkin patches from two weekends ago. Unfortunately, we went the day after Halloween. We quickly discovered that pumpkin patches shut down as soon as Halloween is over. We still had fun driving through the beautiful foliage.

Halloween "Moo"ments
It only seemed fitting that Jack would be a cow for his very first Halloween, given that he likes them so much. We practiced all week making the "moo" sound. Jack got the "mmm" sound down, but couldn't ever get the "ooo" part. Oh well. I wasn't sure how Jack would do in his costume. As you can see from the pictures, it has a hat, and Jack doesn't do hats very well. Surprisingly enough, Jack didn't seem to mind the costume at all. He kept it on the entire evening. In fact, he found it so easy to maneuver around in, that Tom and I had difficulty getting any good pictures of him in his costume because he was moving around so much.
We didn't take to the streets this year for trick-or-treating. Instead, we went to Jack's friend Maggie's house (she's the one in the chicken costume) for a baby Halloween party. Jack was the sole boy, but he didn't seem to care. We had a super fun evening just hanging out and watching all the little ones interact with one another. WARNING: I took a lot of pictures....
We stopped by Emma and Mia's house before heading to the party to see the two little superheroes. I hadn't seen them in a while and I can't believe how much they've grown. Jack will definitely have fun with these two caped crusaders as they all get older.
What a fun evening spent being totally and completely entertained by our udderly (I just couldn't resist) adorable little cow!
