Saturday was a special treat because the weather turned out to be gorgeous—much different from the forecasted rainy day we had thought it would be. We took full advantage of the day and began it with a swim at MLT pool.
After naps, we got the kids all dressed up in their costumes and headed for University Village to do some trick-or-treating. As you can see from the picture, Jack was a Husky football player, Jake Locker, to be exact. He dutifully carried around his football the entire time and didn’t fumble once!
The place was an absolute zoo, with children in costumes everywhere and parents frantically chasing behind them. Jack literally ran from one store to the next. He got really excited each time he got a sticker or piece of candy. There were plenty of “oh boy!”s coming from him!
Part way through, Jack took a break and played on the playground. He now loves to go down slides all by himself. What a big boy!
You may be wondering what Emmett was up to during this time. Yes, he did come trick-or-treating and, yes, he did dress up. Emmett didn’t get any candy, though, because he was fast asleep in the stroller the entire time! He loves the new stroller and nearly always falls immediately asleep when inside. I snapped the following pictures of him asleep in the stroller.
We lasted about an hour trick-or-treating. On our way back to the car we stopped for some family pictures together.
When we got home, we made a few stops to neighbors on our block before heading inside for some dinner. We had so much fun together as a family. It is times like this that make me realize what a special thing it is to watch your children experience life and all of its adventures. I love being along for the journey!
I couldn’t stop taking pictures, so here are some more:
