Loving the Sunshine!

This past week has been so wonderful because there has been sunshine every day. Jack and I have been taking full advantage of it. We've begun taking real walks around our neighborhood. By "real" I mean that Jack actually walks and holds my hand. We never make it more than a block or two, but we stomp on grass, touch leaves, and examine pine cones. Yesterday the power company was putting up a new telephone pole so we walked down to the corner of our street and watched the big trucks. We even got to see one of the workers go up in the cherry picker basket to work on the power lines. Jack watched in awe, all the while making his truck sounds. This morning, a garbage truck was parked on our block, so we walked down to it and watched it pick up garbage. Jack's eyes sparkled the entire time.

We've also been hitting up different playgrounds. It is so much more fun now to visit the playgrounds and let Jack walk around and explore the different toys. He really enjoys the merry-go-round. He doesn't really care about going around in circles, but he does like the sound his feet make when he stomps on the metal.

While he doesn't really have any words beyond, "mama", "dada", and "hi", he is really beginning to understand language. If I ask him to go and get his shoes, he will go into the front room and get them. I love asking him to go and tell something to Tom. Since he doesn't have any words to use, he simply walks over to Tom and babbles to him. It is precious!
